Bike week seminars this Thursday

For anybody who missed Rachel Smith’s presentation at our February meeting, there’s another chance to listen to her talk about “How we can all help to make cycling normal in Brisbane” this Thursday, 15 March, at the Bike Week Seminar. Be at the Brisbane Square community meeting room (ground floor of the library, near where the BUG’s regular meetings are) at 12:45pm for a 1:00pm start.

On Thursday evening bicycle historian Jim Fitzpatrick will be talking about the events in his book Major Taylor in Australia, covering the events of the world champion’s tours of Australia over 100 years ago, including the incredible racism he faced from so many around him. Be at the Rabbit Hole Ideation Cafe with a gold coin donation at 6:30 pm.
