BCC today advised us of a whole range of unrelated minor upcoming closures and detours, on top of the work already in progress on the Bicentennial Bikeway at Toowong and Auchenflower, and at Kangaroo Point.:
Merthyr Park shared pathway works
The Merthyr Park shared pathway in New Farm will be temporarily affected during March to allow for installation of three backflow prevention devices in the Moray Street drainage system.
These works will be intermittent minor detours may be required. Traffic controllers will be in place to assist pedestrians and cyclists during these times.

Botanic Gardens lower footpath closure
The boardwalk and lower footpath behind the Riverstage venue in the Botanic gardens will be closed next Wednesday (29th February) and Thursday (1st March) to allow trees to be removed from the adjacent area.
The upper pathway will remain open for pedestrians and cyclists.
Signage and traffic controllers will be in place to advise users of the closure and detour.

Go Between Bridge pathway maintenance
A contractor will be fixing some defects on both the pedestrian and cycle paths across the Go Between Bridge. The bike side will have a half closure with signage and witches’ hats to alert cyclists. The pedestrian steps will need to be fully closed, but people will be abe to use the ramp and signs will be in place.
The work is scheduled for Monday 12 March for 5 days, depending on the weather. The closures will be from 9am to 3pm.
Cyclists and pedestrians are advised to exercise caution when using the pathways.
Cultural Centre boardwalk maintenance
The corner sections of the Cultural Centre boardwalk will have an anti-slip coating applied next week commencing on Monday 27th. Work will will be undertaken from 9am to 2pm for 5 days, weather permitting.
Half of the walkway will be closed at a time. Cyclists and pedestrians are advised to exercise caution when approaching the work areas.
