BCC advises that work has commenced to replace the Kangaroo Point cliff lighting damaged in the January flood. The works necessitate the partial closure of the roadway at the base of the cliffs for a length of about 80 metres. Traffic controllers will be in place to advise cyclists of the adjacent bike path. The affected section is between the steps that go up the cliffs and the gate that leads to the Riverlife centre.

The work will continue until early 2012.

Cyclists and pedestrians are advised to exercise caution when travelling through the area.
