Bikeability Toolkit Seminars

From Warren Salomon:

I have been commissioned by the Bicycle Federation of Australia to run a series of training seminars in four states over the coming months to train BUGs and Local government reps in the use and application of the Bikeability Toolkit. The project is jointly funded by the Australian Greenhouse Office and the Cycling Promotion Fund. The Bikeability Toolkit is now available on the AGO’s TravelSmart web site.

I hope to organise two similar training seminars in Brisbane on Friday 8 December (for Local Government) and Saturday 9 December for BUGS.

Two promotional email messages with attachments for the first of these seminars in Sydney in late October are available, please email to be sent a copy. They describe the seminar program. Once the dates and venue details for the two Brisbane seminars are set, new flyers and promotional emails will be distributed.

Please call me on 02 9386 4484 for further details.

Warren

More details on the December Seminars:

The Bikeability Toolkit is a useful community resource consisting of a
comprehensive checklist and resources package designed to help local
governments to develop bicycle facilities and support cycling programs
    in their municipalities.

The Bikeability Toolkit was developed with support from the Australian
Greenhouse Office and can be downloaded from their web site at
    http://www.travelsmart.gov.au/bikeability/index.html.

The Bicycle Federation of Australia is running a series of half-day
training seminars to present the Bikeability Toolkit and train local
government staff and councillors, BUG members and other interested
people in its practical use (for more details, see
    http://www.bfa.asn.au/bfanew/pdf/Bikeability_Checklist_workshop_flyer_23-09-06.pdf).

The seminars will be held in the afternoons on the following dates
    across Australia:

    * Sydney: Friday 27 October (Local Government) & Saturday 28 October

    * Adelaide: Friday 24 November (Local Government) & Saturday 25 November
    (BUGS)
    * Brisbane: Friday 8 December (Local Government) & Saturday 9 December

of local bicycle facilities and a group workshop to apply the acquired
skills. Afternoon tea will be provided.
